The Wings of Tatev is the longest reversible aerial tramway in the world. It stretches nearly six kilometers across the Vorotan Gorge, connecting the village of Halidzor to the medieval Tatev Monastery.
Before the cable car opened in 2010, the only way to reach Tatev was a winding mountain road. The journey took hours. In winter, it was often impassable.
I think about Tatev a lot when I think about our work at Armenia Bridge.
The Direct Path vs. The Real Path
When founders first approach us, they often have a mental image of a straight line: register company, open bank account, get residency, start operating. Point A to point B.
The reality is more like that mountain road to Tatev. There are switchbacks. There are seasons when certain routes are closed. There are local conditions that maps do not capture.
Our job is not to pretend the straight line exists. Our job is to know the mountain.
Local Knowledge Matters
The cable car at Tatev was built by an Austrian company. But it was designed with input from Armenians who understood the gorge: the wind patterns, the rock composition, the seasonal changes.
The same principle applies to business setup. You can read the regulations online. You can download forms. But the regulations do not tell you how a particular bank evaluates applications. They do not tell you which ministry official to approach first.
We built Armenia Bridge to be the local knowledge layer. We know the terrain because we have walked it ourselves.
The Destination Is Worth It
When you step off the cable car at Tatev, you see something remarkable: a 9th-century monastery perched on a basalt plateau, the gorge dropping away beneath it. It has survived earthquakes, invasions, and centuries of isolation.
Armenia itself is like that monastery. Ancient, resilient, and worth the journey to reach.
For founders making the crossing, the path may wind. But the destination, a company in a growing ecosystem, a presence in a place that welcomes innovation, is worth the effort.
That is what we mean when we say "cross with us." We know the road. We will walk it with you.
